My ethos

All my jewellery is made from recycled and reused materials - hence 'recycled' & 'bijou' = 'Rebejoo'!

Metal is my material of choice and I became interested in making jewellery and other small items while involved in Viking historical re-enactment, during which I started to accumulate authentic reconstructions, in silver and pewter, to enhance and decorate my costume/kit. I started to make some of my own Viking and Saxon, items, and even sold a few, encompassing some elements of metal-casting and blacksmithing. However, I wanted to produce wearable items with a more modern feel. This, along with my interest in environmental issues (I am also a professional ecologist), led to combining design with recycling and re-use of scrap materials - nothing goes to waste. My aim is to create unique pieces (no design is ever repeated) that can be worn by men and women, which are genuinely enjoyable to wear, and which hopefully provoke interest and comment. Please do let me know what you think!
